Director of Primary Education
Contract type: Full Time
Contract term: Permanent
This is an opportunity to bring your professional expertise to bear on all of the primary schools within Cumbria Education Trust. There are currently four primary schools within the Trust – expected to become five when Caldew Lea Primary formally becomes part of CET.
As Director of Primary Education, you can expect to be deeply involved in all of our primary schools, working closely with headteachers to ensure that teaching and learning in our schools is of the very highest standard. This demands a highly visible approach – you’ll be a regular presence within schools and in classrooms, asking questions, encouraging and mentoring others, and measuring impact. But as well as being close to practice on the ground, we want someone who can also look across the Trust to develop our primary curriculum and develop CET’s primary model of education. The successful candidate will be part of CET’s Leadership Team.
It’s a role that demands a proven track record within the Primary sector and hands-on headship experience of a school which has achieved a significant improvement journey. You should be able to demonstrate an infectious passion for teaching and learning and a wholehearted commitment to raising standards (backed up by the practical know-how to make it happen). The ability to establish positive professional relationships will be at the very heart of this role. It’s essential that you can bring others with you, and that you can create a culture where collaboration and challenge drive improvement.
