Workington Academy is seeking to appoint an experienced or newly qualified, innovative and enthusiastic Teacher of Design Technology to join our friendly and successful department.

The successful candidate will teach at KS3, KS4 and KS5. We are primarily looking for someone who is able to work in Resistant Materials/Product Design. The ideal candidate will be able to support in the development of our KS3 and KS4 curriculum.

Our department is very well equipped and we have:

  • IT suite and a Mobile laptop trolley
  • Brazing hearth and Metal casting facilities
  • Plastic forming equipment
  • 2 x RM workshops
  • 2 x 3D printers, a laser cutter, a large CNC router and a small CNC mill
  • 6 x new 3D printers on order as well as a second laser cutter

We are looking for a teacher with the enthusiasm to motivate and inspire students and be keen to make a significant contribution to the further development of our DT department. If you are an innovative, dynamic and passionate teacher, we would welcome your application.
