44 staff from across Cumbria Education Trust (CET) came together to train in Instructional Coaching – a research based method of developing and improving teaching and learning.
The principle is based around targeting the gap between current and best practice and breaking down the required improvement into sequenced components that can then be practiced and refined.
Lorrayne Hughes, CEO at CET, feels there is real potential in this programme. “We are taking a long term and incremental approach to supporting all of our staff to make sustainable improvements to their practice through a methodology which celebrates their success at every stage.
We know that by investing in our staff we benefit our students too and this is central to all we do at CET.”
