Applications are now being accepted for a new round of professional development NPQs starting in the new year.
Currently more than 100 teaching staff, from CET and further afield, are studying on National Professional Qualification (NPQ) courses with the trust and its partner Ambition Institute. NPQs equip teachers with specialist teaching and leadership skills to lead sustainable improvement across their schools.
The next phase, still fully funded by the Department for Education – so there is no cost for participants, start in February.
There are now seven programmes available running for either 12 or 18 months. They are:
- Leading Behaviour and Culture
- Leading Teaching
- Leading Teacher Development
- Senior Leadership
- Leading Literacy
- Early Years Leadership
The deadline for applications is January 6, 2023.
This will be the third cohort of programmes run by CET and Ambition Institute.
NPQ delivery has shifted from full-day events towards a ‘little-and-often’ approach that reinforces learning as it goes.
Nic Tweddle, CET’s Leadership Development Manager, said: “We know this is such a busy time of year for all teaching staff, but I’d really urge them to think about the NPQ programme and how it can help them develop in their career.
“The support available from our Visiting Fellows and the flexible structure of the Ambition programmes have been identified as real benefits from those who have already taken up this opportunity.”
