The Whitehaven Academy is part of the Cumbria Education Trust. The successful candidate will be joining CET at an exciting time, as we continue to build on our successes and move forward on our journey to establish ourselves as one of the highest performing MATs in the North of England.

 

This is a really exciting opportunity to join The Whitehaven Academy at a pivotal time for its future. There has been significant financial investment to redevelop the school with state of the art new facilities combined with our recent glowing Ofsted report, in which all areas were rated good.

We are looking for an outstanding candidate to lead and manage safeguarding and child protection practice within the Academy, supported by the SLT Designated Safeguarding Lead.

 

The successful candidate will have:

  • Experience of working in the field of child protection with relevant qualifications.
  • An in-depth understanding of child protection and safeguarding legislation.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including telephone manner, tact, diplomacy and confidentiality
  • Relevant experience in a similar environment or appropriate qualifications.
