Snack-loving students, pupils and staff raised a fantastic £2,608 for charity.
The 11 primary and secondary schools of Cumbria Education Trust (CET) got together to support the annual World’s Biggest Coffee Morning in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.
Children from all year groups from Longtown to Tebay and Whitehaven to Brampton donated baked and bought goods and spent plenty of money during breaks and lunchtime.
Some had so many donations they even arranged deliveries to local residents.
Organiser, CET Assistant Headteacher Nicola Tweddle, said: “We were overwhelmed by the generosity shown by all of our school communities. The cakes donated were amazing, it was a joy to see.
“Everyone really got into the spirit of the event and the purpose behind it. It was fantastic to see children from all year groups – and staff – involved.”
