The CET Leadership Development Virtual Launch Event took place on Tuesday 6 July, which saw 37 staff members from across CET join together as part of Cohort 1 of CET’s brand new NPQ Pre-requisite courses.
CET’s new Leadership Development courses, which will run throughout the new academic year, emulate the format of each of the NPQ courses on a smaller scale, giving CET staff meaningful professional development at a local level and providing participants with a strong foundation to be able to apply to enrol on an accredited NPQ course, as the new programmes are rolled out in the future.
After a competitive recruitment process, Tuesday’s Launch Event brought together the 37 successful applicants who will enrol onto CET’s four new Pre-requisite NPQ courses in the Autumn Term. An introduction from CEO Lorrayne Hughes, was followed by testimonials from three members of staff from across CET who have recently completed NPQ courses delivered by CET; Daniel Smith (TWA), Edwina Headley (WA) and Allison Kenyon (LPS) who shared their own experience of the NPQ courses and gave advice to our new participants to help them to succeed and get the most out of this experience, as they embark on their own new leadership journey.
Nic Tweddle – Leadership Development Manager shared some course operational information before participants split into four break out rooms for a course specific introduction with the course facilitators; Rose O’Hagan (WA), Kath Pigdon (WHS) and Kimberley Rose Smith (LPS), supported by Katy Birks (WHS).
After having the opportunity to network with staff from across all eleven CET schools, the participants are now considering foci for their own impact projects, in line with individual school and CET priorities to take forward into the new academic year, which will be embedded and undertaken alongside the completion of the new leadership courses.
