CET schools across Cumbria have welcomed back Year 11 students to receive their GCSE results today. The Whitehaven Academy, William Howard School and Workington Academy have been celebrating the dedication and hard work of their students, along with all of the staff who have helped our young people reach this milestone.
The Whitehaven Academy
Nigel Youngman, Headteacher, expressed his gratitude and pride in the students’ accomplishments today, commenting, “It has been an absolute joy to see students, parents, carers and staff come in to share the successes of the students.
This wonderful year group have embraced every opportunity they have been given from the moment they joined. After lots of hard work, every single student has something to be proud about. Whether they are continuing to study with us at West Coast Sixth Form, going to study elsewhere or joining exciting apprenticeships, we wish them well.
Staff are rightly proud of how the students have done. Some students have an extra personal reason to celebrate, having overcome their own challenges in life with a courage that is humbling to see. A huge thank you to each and every colleague for their resolute commitment.
Finally, never in my career have I had the privilege of working with such supportive parents and carers. Being part of the Whitehaven community is something quite special.”
