Safeguarding Update from CET’s Head of Safeguarding, Gill Creighton
“Kindness is a language that the deaf can hear and the blind can see” – Mark Twain.
Imagine a world where respect and kindness thrive – it’s not just a dream, it’s in the choices we make. Anti-Bullying week (11th to 15th November) and World Kindness Day (13th November) were celebrated in all CET schools. Random acts of kindness were carried out and a range of activities and adventures were enjoyed by all. The aim was to empower children and young people to be kind and not to resort to bullying, even when they disagree and to remind adults to lead by example, online and offline.
Odd socks were worn by many on 12th November to celebrate difference. There’s a serious message behind the fun. The pulling on of odd socks shows we’re ALL unique; so let’s show respect, be kind to each other and admire each other’s individuality.
The impact of random acts of kindness is well-documented and all CET schools have Mental Health and Wellbeing plans written by our Wellbeing Champions, supported by a dedicated team of Mental Health First Aiders who wear green lanyards.
