We at Cumbria Education Trust passionately believe that every child deserves the opportunities to ‘be the best they can be’.
And we’re equally clear that we cannot deliver on that belief without developing the very best teachers and school leaders.
We want to help all teachers and leaders excel in their careers. That’s why we put such high emphasis on professional development for our staff.
However, these National Professional Qualifications (NPQs) are open to all and we’re extremely pleased that professionals from outside of CET are also choosing to continue their development with us.
The application period is now open for our next cohort of participants – with the programmes starting in October 2023.
We are delighted to continue our partnership with the nationally recognised Ambition Institute delivering the reformed NPQ courses.
NPQs are prestigious professional qualifications, widely recognised in the education sector. They are voluntary and designed to support the professional development of teachers and school leaders at all levels, in both the primary and secondary sector.
These accredited programmes are for teachers and leaders who want to expand their knowledge and skills in specialist areas of teaching practice and school leadership. They are a prime driver in transforming professional development in schools.
NPQs are currently fully funded for state schools by the Department for Education, so with no cost to the participant there has never been a better time to access the next stage of your career.
All programmes are delivered and facilitated by our highly skilled and dedicated team of Ambition Institute trained and qualified Visiting Fellows and all face-to-face sessions will take place in highly professional, comfortable and easily accessible Northern / Cumbrian locations.
There are seven NPQ programmes on offer through CET and Ambition Institute:
- Leading Behaviour and Culture
- Leading Teaching
- Leading Teacher Development
- Senior Leadership
- Headship
- Leading Literacy
- Early Years Leadership
